Spent yesterday wrangling web stuff around. It's heavy lifting for me, honestly. But the reward is getting to work on paintings all day today. Above is Van Dyck's portrait of Herr van der Geest.
Below is a study of the Holbein painting of Herr Grieze. The Holbein study is at the end of the first underpainting stage. The goal is to articulate the turning of forms in a clear manner. The Holbein, below, only has two sessions in, and the form is not turning properly. I trust it will, soon.
